The vine:
- Located in Rouffach, in the South of Alsace, the Clos Saint Landelin, monopoly of the Muré family, covers 15 hectares (37.5 acres). It’s situated at the southern end of the grand cru Vorbourg. Its steep south facing slopes are cultivated in terraces. The soil is clay and limestone with a lot of stones. The subsoil is made of calcareous sandstone from the Bajocien and calcareous conglomerates from the Oligocene. The vineyard is in organic farming.

The wine:
- Vinification: slow fermentation and maturation on fine lees
- Acidity in tartric acid: 5,5 grams / litre
- Residual sugar: 103 grams / litre
- Alcohol: 13 % / volume
- Date of harvest: October 20th 1997
- Yield: 28 hl / ha
- Tasting notes:
Nose of dry and crystallized fruits. The wine is complex in the mouth: the aromas of the nose are present. The wine is fat and balanced by a nice acidity. It has a long persistancy, and is of great harmony.
