The vine :

Sheltered by the highest peaks of the Vosges mountains, this terroir receives an exceptional amount of sunshine. The mainly calcareous subsoil ensures good drainage. The exposure of the hillsides goes from east to south-west. In 2005 the INAO (Institut National des Appellations d’Origine) acknowledge the denomination « Côte de Rouffach » as a communal appellation.

The wine:

- Harvest: by hand, in 20-kg-boxes

- Date of harvest: September 29th 2009

- Wine made: with grapes from organic farming

- Yield: 59 hl / ha

- Vinification: slow fermentation and maturation on fine lees

- Residual sugar: 5 grams / litre

- Alcohol: 13,5 % / volume

- Acidity : 8,3 grams / litre (in tartaric acid)

- Tasting notes:

The wine has a pale yellow color with green reflects. The nose evokes the citrus fruits (lemon, grapefruit) and cardamom. The mouth is fresh and shiny with flavours of lemon and white peach. The final is long and elegant. To be served with fish and seafood.
