In the valley of Soultzmatt, west of Rouffach, the grand cru Zinnkoepflé has steep south-facing slopes. It is the highest grand cru in Alsace (up to 1300 feet)... The soil is made of sandstone and calcareous from Muschelkalk (Trias). The vineyards from the Zinnkoepflé that belong to the Muré family are in organic farming.
- Average age of vines: 11 years
The wine :
- Vinification: slow fermentation and maturation on fine lees
- Residual sugar: 50 grams / litre
- Alcohol: 12,5 % / volume
- Date of harvest: October 8th and 18th 2005
- Tasting notes:
Fine nose: anise, mint, floral notes.
The mouth is rich but delicate and well-balanced. It reminds anise and white peach. In retro-olfaction, you smell flower of elder. Good length.
To be enjoyed alone anytime or as an aperitif. Also a perfect match with foie gras and strong cheeses.
