The vine :

Calcaires Jaunes refer to the yellow limestone from Rouffach. This stone, well-known in the region, was used to build the church of Rouffach and Saint Martin collegiate church of Colmar. The limestone soils suit well the grape-variety riesling and emphasise its minerality. It gives fruity flavours (pomelo, lemon) and fine wines.

  • Average age of vines : 35 years

The wine :

  • Vinification : Slow fermentation and maturation on fine lees
  • Harvest : By hand in 20-kg-boxes
  • Date of harvest : 19th to 21th October 2016
  • Yield : 69 hl/ha
  • Residual sugar : 2 grams / litre
  • Alcohol : 12 %/volume
  • Acidity : 9,6 grams/litre (in tartaric acid)
  • Ageing potentiel : Until 2024
