The Domaine du Clos Saint Landelin, the Muré family’s vineyard, is located in Rouffach. Its best part is the Clos Saint Landelin. The others vineyards are in the neighbouring areas of Vorbourg, Zinnkoepflé, Schulzengass or Lutzeltal. Besides the estate, René Muré has established a partnership with winegrowers from the Rouffach area. The wines produced with these grapes are the crémants d’Alsace, the Côte de Rouffach and the generic wines. Click on the differents terroirs to discover them !
Rouffach is located in the southern part of the vineyard in Alsace (17 km south of Colmar). This area is protected from the west-winds (carriers of rain) by the highest summits of the Vosges Mountains (Grand Ballon et Petit Ballon). This explains the exceptional sunny climate of Rouffach, and the very low precipitations (598 mm of precipitations per year). The soil is clay and limestone over a limestone and sandstone subsoil. The vineyard is made up of 22 hectares (55 acres) of which 15 hectares (37 acres) are the Clos Saint Landelin. The purchase of grapes is made on 25 hectares (62 acres). All the Alsatian grapes are represented with equal success: sylvaner, pinot blanc, riesling, pinot gris, muscat, gewurztraminer and pinot noir. Download the terroir map (Adobe Acrobat). |
