Clos Château d'Isenbourg
Clos Château d’Isenbourg is a new vineyard cultivated by the estate. This 5-hectare walled vineyard, located in Rouffach beneath the Château of the same name, is planted with Pinot Gris, Riesling, and Pinot Noir. The soil lies on a geological formation known as Oligocene conglomerate. It is a type of rock composed mainly of highly weathered granite pebbles bound together by calcareous material. This formation is extremely rare. The presence, in the same location, of both limestone and highly weathered granite gives this terroir distinctive characteristics, making it an exceptional vineyard site.
